Botanical name:Aquilegia hybrids

Coumbine has large, spurred flowers with clear colors of white, lavender, yellow, deep red and pink which are borne on 2 1/2' tall plants. The strikingly beautiful blooms make good cut flowers. They require partial shade or full sun, along with well- drained soil. The colors, however, cannot be chosen. -Holland Wildflower Farm

This small annual (sometimes acts as a perennial) plant will grow to less than 1' tall and has light, small blue green leaves with gold and orange flowers that bloom in spring and summer.

This deciduous shrub ranges from 6'-20' tall and 10'-15' wide. It is desirable for its magenta spring flowers, yellow to red fall color, and dangling winter seed pods. It is tolerant of many soil types, drought and oak root fungus. It attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Santa Cruz Island Buckwheat is a loosely branched shrub growing 2'-5' high and wide with shredding, gray to reddish colored bark, grayish foliage, and creamy pink spring flowers. It is a CA native, drought tolerant, attracts butterflies and beneficial insects. - Cornflower Farms.
